Scotland in the World

And for my next trip…

Nicola Sturgeon is back home after her visit to the USA. However, without any obvious trade deal or economic benefit accruing from the visit, it looks like the trip will be marked down as another item in the Scottish Government’s news grid that is forgotten about within a week. The UK government has done the right thing in extending the immigration to offer to Hong Kongers. But the government have done little to pro-actively attract emigrees from Hong Kong. COP shows Scotland can host the World Cup

The World Cup: a tournament that the UK and Ireland should host in 2030. From the UK government’s perspective, it would be an opportunity to reaffirm the deep cultural bonds that exist across the UK. It would also show the UK delivering for Scotland, much more than any technocratic policy announcement ever could.
